The Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Aleksandra Sofronijević, visited the Port Governance Agency, where she met with Director Vuk Perović and his team to discuss the implementation of key development projects in the port sector. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Minister Aleksandar Banjac and the Head of the Minister’s Cabinet, Danica Uskoković.
During the meeting, the Agency presented its recent achievements and ongoing development projects, including the Sail through Serbia initiative, the Green Ports project, the bulk cargo terminal in Belgrade, and the expansion of the international passenger terminal in Belgrade.
Minister Sofronijević emphasized that river transport is one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly modes of transport, and that the Ministry will continue to strengthen this branch of the transport system.
“We see great potential for further development of freight and passenger transport along Serbia’s rivers. Rivers connect people, cultures, as well as markets and economies. Institutional cooperation within the sector is key to implementing development plans, as only through teamwork can we achieve our goals,” she stated.
Perović underlined that the Agency is continuously working on improving port operations and that cooperation with the line ministry on development projects is a vital pillar in achieving strategic objectives.
“The Ministry’s support and our joint efforts will enable more efficient project implementation and further strengthen the port sector, as well as Serbia’s position as a key nautical destination,” Perović concluded.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain intensive communication between the Ministry and the Agency to ensure the successful implementation of planned development activities.
