At its session held on 11 September, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted the Regulation on the Declaration of the Port Area of the International Passenger Terminal in Apatin. The initiative for the adoption of this decree was previously submitted by the Port Governance Agency through the competent ministry.
The passenger terminal in Apatin holds particular importance for the development of river cruising in Serbia. According to the Water Transport Development Strategy, this location has been identified as a key site for attracting a greater number of cruise vessels along the Danube and for fostering the development of the broader upper Danube region.
The Apatin passenger terminal is included in the capital project “Sail through Serbia”, and in the forthcoming period, the Port Governance Agency will announce a Public Call for the selection of a port operator.
