Port Governance Agency organized final conference within ,,DAPhNE’’ project

Port Governance Agency held a national workshop in regard to the completion of DAPhNE project. DAPhNE aims to facilitate a balanced development of Danube Ports as eco-friendly, well accessible multimodal hubs for the transport system of the region and to turn Danube Ports into buzzing economic centres functioning as catalysts for economic growth and creation of high value jobs. The participants of the workshop were the most relevant stakeholders from public and private sector, such as representatives of the Directorate for inland waterways, Faculty of Transport, port operators and shipping companies.

PGA presented the participants activities carried out in previous period and the most important results of the project - the newly-formed organization Danube Ports Network and pilot software ‘’Track and trace’’.

"It is a great pleasure for me today to mark the successful end of the project. Over the past 30 months, PGA has worked together with partners from other Danube riparian countries to find solutions for the development of ports. Every project meeting, study visit, participation in forums was a way to improve business, learn from European colleagues and transfer this knowledge to our country, " said Vuk Perović, director of Agency

He emphasized that during the project, organization "Danube Ports Network" was formed and Agency become a member of this organization. DPN  was established in order to achieve all the goals of the project "DAPhNE" in the following period. The aim of the DPN is to initiate new projects, to strengthen communication between partners, in accordance with strategy for development of the Danube ports.

Perovic added that the Agency has developed and implemented Track and Trace Software, an important segment of the overall Port Community System. According to him, the importance of Track and Track software is reflected mostly in the security aspect, as the platform allows tracking of vessels in ports. Track and trace is also the basis for possible further communication as well as the exchange of documentation with other relevant nstitutions, Perovic. He announced that PGA has applied for participation in the new project, which will be a continuation of activities from the "DAPhNE" project.

PGA presented participants Track and Trace software actions in real time and also the Strategy for development of Danube ports, which represents joint output of all project partners.

Cooperation achieved through the implemented results will enable realization of goals for improvement of port administration and management of ports in the entire Danube region, has been concluded at the workshop.
